GenAI and Creativity: Baseline Boost or Creative Blur?

Krishna Chandra Nuti3 min read102

In one of our recent town halls, a question came up around whether our growing dependence on GenAI is limiting creativity. I wanted to double-click on that thought here.

Our CEO made an interesting point - GenAI tools don’t kill creativity; they actually amplify it. They set a baseline, a starting contour for your ideas. From there, it’s still on you to make it your own, to bring originality, context and emotion.

Of course, this tradeoff looks different across use cases. GenAI undeniably boosts productivity and efficiency, but does that baseline come at the cost of creative depth? Especially for teams whose job is to imagine something new every day, does reliance on AI slowly dull that creative edge?

It’s a paradox that only time and how we adapt will truly answer.

Thanks for reading.
